500m2 Protected Habitat
One-time Contribution
Our Mission
We believe protecting and restoring nature must be credible, accountable, and rewarding for you and habitat that support Australia's native fauna. We deliver measurable environmental outcomes that create lasting impact.
What We’re Working Towards
Our mission is to empower individuals and organisations to support enduring, nature-positive biodiversity outcomes through transparency and high-integrity.
We connect environmental investment with real conservation and restoration work that you can see, visit and be proud of.
A key expression of this mission is Homes for Habitat – an initiative that enables everyday Australians to directly protect critical native bushland. Through a $250 tax-deductible contribution, 500 square metres of Australian habitat – approximately the size of a traditional home block – is managed, on your behalf, for a period of 25 years. Each 500m2 is referred to as a ‘Habitat Home’.
We create meaningful pathways for people to participate in long-term environmental protection.
How We Deliver Impact
1. Real, Verifiable Outcomes
Every Habitat Home directly supports projects that deliver measurable improvements in biodiversity and ecosystem health. These are tangible, on-the-ground sites that are protected, actively managed, and continuously monitored.
2. Transparent, Trusted Systems
Our approach prioritises integrity and accountability. Supporters can clearly see how their contributions translate into real environmental outcomes, supported by robust safeguards that ensure long-term ecological success.
3. Accessible Participation
We make it easy to act. Individuals can contribute through Homes for Habitat, while businesses can partner with Catchment to secure larger scale projects that have high-integrity — enabling meaningful environmental impact at every level.

Every Australian can play a part
Homes for Habitat provide stewardship habitat payments (investment directly into habitat management outcomes) and support biodiversity in two ways:

- Stewardship payments – Remaining funds are invested and released over a 25-year period to help maintain and secure the environmental outcomes. To learn more, please download our White Paper below.

Catchment Whitepaper
Why It Matters
Australia’s unique biodiversity is under pressure. Habitat loss, fragmentation and environmental change are driving declines in native species and ecosystem health.
Catchment exists to mobilise funding and support mechanisms that help reverse this trend through protecting habitat and restoring ecological function.

Frequently Asked Questions
Who is Catchment?
Catchment is a dedicated not‑for‑profit organisation created to ensure that individuals and businesses can make a genuine, measurable difference to Australia’s native wildlife. Every contribution made to Catchment goes directly toward on‑ground conservation actions—not administration—so your support delivers real outcomes where they’re needed most. As the 100% charitable arm of our subsidiary company, Carbon Landscapes, we combine ecological expertise with a mission-driven purpose to protect and restore threatened habitats.
What are ‘Homes for Habitat’?
Just as every person has a place to call home, every native species needs safe, healthy habitat. ‘Homes for Habitat’ empowers individuals, businesses, and community groups to create and sustain vital habitat for native wildlife. By supporting this program, you help us deliver targeted conservation work that strengthens ecosystems and gives threatened species a fighting chance.
Why are the ‘Homes for Habitat’ 500 metres in size?
A typical Australian home sits on roughly 500 m². When you support a ‘Home for Habitat’, you are directly offsetting the footprint of a home by protecting the same area of native habitat for wildlife. It’s a simple, powerful way to ensure that your everyday life contributes positively to the natural world.
Where are the Homes for Habitat located?
Our Homes for Habitat are positioned across Victoria, Australia on properties that protect high‑value, threatened ecosystems. We’re also expanding our framework to welcome additional landholders with conservation‑worthy habitat—so your support helps us grow the network of protected landscapes across the state.
How is my contribution to Homes for Habitat helping native wildlife?
Your contribution enables our team to carry out critical conservation work—including pest control, ecological fire and water management, and habitat restoration tailored to threatened species. These are applying hands‑on, science‑backed actions proven to improve the health and resilience of ecosystems. When you donate, you are investing in tangible, long-term outcomes for wildlife that need our help now more than ever.
Can I visit the property that I am helping to manage?
Yes! We host ‘open weekends’ that allow supporters like you to see the real, on‑the‑ground difference your contribution is making. These events offer a unique opportunity to witness habitat restoration in action, speak with our ecological team, and experience firsthand the impact of your generosity. We’ll let you know when and where these events will take place.
